November 3, 2004 — A new study published in Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey concluded that women, in particular, gain from an increased intake of omega-3 fatty acids. The study investigated the role of omega-3 fatty acids and their affect on prevention and their role in health maintenance specifically unique to women. Results indicated supplementation of omega-3 fatty acids might help support the health of both the mother and baby during and after pregnancy, promote normal breast tissue, and maintain bone health.
